BOKU Core Facility Mass spectrometry

At Mass spectrometry advanced facilities for analysis enable studies in all “-omics” fields at one single location. Nano-LC-MS/MS is used for studies requiring proteomics and glycoproteomics data, while LC-MS/MS, GC-MS/MS, and high-resolution mass spectrometry platforms serve studies within the field of metabolomics. Studies at cellular analysis focus on metabolomics and fluxomics for a wide range of applications. Within metabolomics, the major aims are targeted metabolic profiling of selected metabolites and the non-targeted analysis of all metabolites present in a biological system or compartment. Within fluxomics, which addresses the quantitative assessment of molecular fluxes in a biological system, the goal is the accurate determination of isotopologue or isotopomer ratios for the metabolites of interest.
At EQ, the BOKU Core Facility Mass spectrometry uses the following facilities:

The Thermo Vantage Triple Quadrupole LC-MS/MS
The Thermo TSQ Quantum XLS Ultra Triple Quadrupole GC-MS/MS
The Agilent 7200 GC-qTOFMS
The Agilent 6560 LC-IMS-qTOFMS
The Agilent 6230 LC-TOFMS
